Gene Stratton Porter (August 17, 1863 - December 6, 1924) was an U.s. creator, film writer & naturalist world health organization wrote fanciful, romanticistic, easily-plotted stories placed in the American Midwest.

Born Geneva Grace Stratton within Wabash County, Indiana, she married Charles D. Porter within 1886, & experienced a single girl, Jeannette, by owning him.

She became the wildlife lensman, specializing in the Limberlost Swamp of Indiana, before she explored writing & produced her number one novel, A Song of the Cardinal. Her novel Girl of the Limberlost is set in the swamp she loved & explored. She one of these days wrote Dozen books.

Catherine Woolley, creator of the "Ginnie and Geneva" series of tykes's books, will stand known as her character of Geneva Porter fallowing Geneva Stratton Porter.

Gene Stratton Porter moved to Los Angeles, California in the 1920s to joinside the picture show business, & died there in 1924.
